Fareham sits at the top of Portsmouth Harbour, between Southampton one way and Portsmouth the other, with Portchester and its castle to the east, Titchfield and Warsash on the Meon and the Solent shore, and Stubbington and Hill Head facing the water. Waterlooville is inland to the north east, and Emsworth and Hayling Island are further round the coast again.

Fareham News covers that stretch. Not all of it is one council: Fareham Borough Council answers for the town and the villages around it, while Waterlooville, Emsworth and Hayling Island come under neighbouring districts, and we name the right authority in every story. Everything we publish comes from the published record, with a link to the document each time.
