Fareham's Halloween runs 23 October to 1 November: free daily trails at Fort Nelson, £5 and £8 family discos, Garsons pumpkins from 9 October, ghost tours.

Halloween in Fareham is a half-term week. Hampshire schools break on Friday 23 October and go back on Monday 2 November, and Halloween itself falls on the Saturday, 31 October. The borough has no council-run Halloween event, so what follows is a mix of a free museum, two shopping centres, community centre parties, the theatre and the garden centres. Every detail is from the organiser’s own listing, read on 3 October 2026.

The quick answer

  • Free every day: Fort Nelson, 24 October to 1 November, 10am to 4pm. Entry is free but you must book; parking is £3.
  • On Halloween itself (Sat 31 Oct): a £5 children’s party at Sarisbury Green, ghost tours at Fareham Live from £15, and costumed characters at Whiteley.
  • Pumpkins: Garsons Titchfield sells farm-grown pumpkins from 9 October, free entry. The two Titchfield pick-your-own farms have not yet published 2026 dates.

Fort Nelson: free every day

The Royal Armouries runs Halloween Fun at the Fort at its Victorian fort on Portsdown Hill, PO17 6AN, from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am to 4pm (Royal Armouries).

  • The Creepy Codebreaker trail is free, picked up in the visitor centre, and aimed at ages 6 to 10. Younger children can join in with help.
  • Daily have-a-go Halloween activities run alongside it.
  • Book a free ticket for every adult and every child aged 3 and over. You pick an hourly arrival slot, from 10am to 11am through to 3pm to 4pm. The Royal Armouries says the event does sell out.
  • Parking is £3 per vehicle, paid in reception. A suggested £2.50 donation is added at booking and can be removed.

Mega Fun Day at Fareham Leisure Centre

Mega Fun Days fills the leisure centre’s main sports hall with Halloween inflatables on Saturday 24 October: bouncy castles, slides, assault courses, magic shows, a game show and a disco, for ages 2 to 11, with a toddler zone (Mega Fun Days on Ticket Tailor).

  • Three sessions: 10.30am to 12pm, 12.30pm to 2pm and 2.30pm to 4pm.
  • A child’s ticket is £12 plus a £1 booking fee. Adults pay £1.50 plus 75p. The £9.99 early-bird child tickets have sold out.
  • Babies go free with a full-paying older brother or sister. Tickets are not refundable, and parents must supervise their children throughout.

Discos and parties

Three community Halloween events are listed by their organisers on the council’s Live Love Local Fareham calendar:

  • Portchester Halloween Family Silent Disco, Friday 23 October, 5.30pm to 7.30pm, Portchester Community Centre, Westlands Grove, PO16 9AD. £8 per child, with games, crafts, a best-dressed competition and Princess Gee as Maleficent. Proceeds go to the community centre, which says spaces are limited (listing).
  • Halloween Crafts for Children at Fareham Library, Thursday 29 October, 10am to 12pm, Osborn Road. £2 per child, from the help desk or online (listing).
  • Scream on the Green, Saturday 31 October, 2pm to 5pm, Sarisbury Green Community Centre, SO31 7AA. A disco, games, a scary string trail and prizes for the best costume and best pumpkin. £5 per child including a goodie bag and a drink (listing).

Whiteley Shopping

Whiteley’s half-term programme has three Halloween days (Whiteley Shopping):

  • Saturday 24 October: a witchy duo with stage shows, games and meet and greets, 11am to 4pm.
  • Friday 30 October: Sophie’s Spooktacular Trick or Treat Trail, 10am to 3.30pm, £5 per person. Children hunt for clues to crack a secret phrase for a Sophie’s Legacy medal and a treat, and Promise the Penguin is there to meet (trail details). A charity market runs the same day.
  • Saturday 31 October: the Pumpkin King and Ragdoll Queen, with stage shows and roaming characters, 11am to 4pm.

Ghost tours at Fareham Live

On Halloween morning the Osborn Road theatre runs Step Behind The Curtain: Ghost Tour, a spooky backstage tour at 10am and 12pm, from £15 (listing; Fareham Live). The theatre’s family shows for the rest of the week, including Dog Man: The Musical, are on our half-term page.

Pumpkins

Garsons Titchfield opens its first Pumpkin Harvest on Friday 9 October, running to 31 October, in an undercover area of the plant department at Fontley Road, PO15 6QX. The pumpkins are grown at Garson Farm in Surrey. Garsons is clear it is “not an event”: entry is free, no booking, pumpkins are sold separately and only while stocks last (Garsons).

The two pick-your-own farms have not published 2026 dates yet. Both announce their pumpkin season on Facebook rather than on a website, so check there before you set off:

  • Steve Harris Pick Your Own, Triangle Lane, Titchfield, PO14 4HB. In 2023 it opened its pumpkin field in mid October and stayed open 10am to 4pm every day until Halloween, with no booking, at £3 a pumpkin or four for £10 (The News, October 2023). Those are 2023 prices.
  • Hollam Nurseries, 348 Titchfield Road, PO14 3EU. Its own site says it grows pick-your-own pumpkins; the last season it dated there was 2020, open daily 17 to 31 October, 10am to 4pm (Hollam Nurseries).

We will add both farms’ 2026 dates when they publish them.

Fireworks the same week

Two of the borough’s public displays fall inside half term: Cams Hall Estate on Friday 30 October and Whiteley on Sunday 1 November. Times and ticket prices are on our Fareham fireworks page.

Getting there

Fareham Live, the library and the leisure centre are all a short walk from the town centre’s council car parks; charges and the Sunday rules are on our parking in Fareham page. Check Fareham roadworks and travel before driving to Portsdown Hill or Whiteley. The clocks go back an hour in the early hours of Sunday 25 October, so sunset comes before 5pm for the rest of the week.
