Easy Mortgages of Fareham and its managing director, Charles Calvert, are finalists in two UK Small Business Awards categories. Winners named 19 December.

A Fareham mortgage broker and its founder are through to the finals of the Official UK Small Business Awards 2026 in two categories, and it is the second year running that Charles Calvert has made the shortlist.

Mr Calvert, managing director of Easy Mortgages, is a finalist for Male Entrepreneur of the Year. His firm, Easy Mortgages Limited, which is based at Merryfield in Fareham, is separately a finalist for Best Financial Services Business. Both entries represent Hampshire, according to the finalist certificates the awards issued on 13 October.

“Make the process simpler”

Mr Calvert said the recognition mattered because of what he set out to do with the business.

“We are incredibly honoured and thrilled to be recognised as a finalist at The UK Small Business Awards,” he said. “My aim was always to make the process simpler for clients and I’m incredibly proud to be up for two awards.”

The organisers say the field was a strong one this year. A spokesperson for The UK Small Business Awards said: “The standard of entries this year has been incredibly high. Each finalist has demonstrated an exceptional level of talent and dedication, representing the very best of UK small businesses.”

Results on 19 December

The winners will be announced on 19 December 2026 at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where the National Top 10 are revealed on stage and live-streamed.
